Beneath the clouds of endless gray
I sauntered through evenings that gulped the day
Taking chances, hoping for the best
Every breath a struggle to wriggle and wrest
Crossroads appeared like silent ghosts,
Paths of thorn, the people to toast
Some vowed love, some promised pain,
Some led to loss, some to exponential gain
The world had gardens of silk and ease,
But velvet alleys could never seize
The fire inside me, the restless flame,
The silent call that bore my name
Regret whimpered in shadowed lanes,
Success came in pieces, is it a boon or a bane.
I take responsibility of every choice,
The silent cost of finding my voice
Now, when the world asks who I’ve become,
I look back at life, half empty half done
Every scar a story, every wound a guide,
Learned to be humble since my ego died
Life is a stairway to nowhere, high and steep
A few steps you laugh on, a few just make you weep
But go a bit easy on yourself, it ain’t that deep
For this internal conflict shall persist till the day you are laid to sleep.
